Over 5,500 inbounds and over 2,500 for Powder Snowcat Safari adds up to the most skiable terrain in the US. With this much space, you won't share any of the 124 runs with a crowd. Only Mother Nature makes snow at Powder Mountain. With 500 inches each year, why bother with artificial snow? We are renowned for untracked powder, but a large variety of runs are groomed nightly so that every level of boarder and skier joins in the fun.
Complimentary tours designed to introduce Powder Mountain 's groomed trails; lodges and lifts depart daily at 10:00am. Mountain Hosts meet guests at the trail map sign, next to the Yurt at the Resort Center. Mountain Orientation Tours last approximately 1-2 hours. Those in search of untracked powder will want to book a Mountain Adventure Pro for a ½ day or full day tour. The other option is Powder Snowcat Safari. The excursion is limited to 10 guests plus 2 guides per day.
The Hidden Lake Terrain Park is designed for advanced and expert level park riders. Larger, more technical features line the entire length of the Hidden Lake Run. Off-season improvements including widening and flattening the run will allow for more rail and box options and a better jump line. Adjacent to the middle section of the Hidden Lake Park you will find the Lumberjack Zone. This area offers terrain park features made from natural materials such as logs, power poles and milled lumber. The Lumberjack Zone is designed for Expert level park riders. The Hidden Lake Terrain Park is open from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm seven days a week and is groomed nightly.
Powder Mountain is one of the first, if not the only resort in the US, offering a snowkite pass and an area exclusively for snowkiting. The area between the Hidden Lake parking lot and the tower near the Sunrise lift has ideal conditions for snowkiting – sloping terrain without obstacles and frequent winds. The $20 snowkite pass provides access to this area via the Sunrise lift and one ride up Hidden Lake at the end of the day. There is also a $300 season snowkite pass available.
One of Powder Mountain's greatest assets, the Lightning Ridge Snowcat will take you to the top of Lightning Ridge with very little effort. Once on top you will access over 700 challenging acres of pristine powder snow with an impressive 2100' vertical drop.
